Join us for a dip in the deep ocean, at a cool and calm after-hours drawing session with the sensational sharks at Sea Life London. From the speedy pack of black tip reef sharks, to the sand tigers with their endless sets of teeth, we will be will be marvelling at their agility and efficiency in the water – just a few of the evolutionary traits that have kept them swimming the seas for the last 450 million years. Look out for Dean the nurse shark, who arrived by wheelie bin when he surprised his previous owner by drastically outgrowing a fish tank!

The class will begin with a talk from one of the marine experts at the aquarium, who will provide plenty of fascinating facts about sharks, and their importance in the ocean ecosystem. We'll also be sharing ways to get involved to help sharks to ensure their presence in our seas for years to come.

Artist Jennie Webber will then get you started with some of her top tips for drawing from swimming models. No prior art experience is needed to join the session- whether you’re a dab hand or an absolute beginner, we will have you sketching away in no time. The aim of our classes is to use drawing as a tool to learn about animals and conservation- there is no pressure to create a “perfect” portrait! We will provide a range of art materials, paper and drawing boards for you to use, so no need to bring anything along, but if you have some trusty favourites that you enjoy using you are welcome to bring them.

Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do at Wild Life Drawing. We are a small team of animal lovers who are dedicated to conservation, and we strive to make each of our classes a positive experience for the animals we draw. We only ever work with the finest handlers who treat their animals with respect and care, and animals who are healthy and happy being around humans.

50% of your ticket price will go to the aquarium's partner charity SEA LIFE Trust which has several marine conservation projects around the world, including the Beluga Whale Sanctuary and Puffin Rescue Centre in Iceland, and The Cornish Seal Sanctuary here in the UK.

Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be moved to another class, but can be transferred to another name- just get in touch to let us know who will be attending. We do sometimes have waiting lists for sessions, so if the class you have tickets for is sold out and you can’t make it, please email info@wildlifedrawing.co.uk with as much notice as possible and we will try our best to re-allocate your tickets. If we are able to do so you will be given a credit for another class.
