Water you up to in January? Why not join us at the London Aquarium for a riveting yet relaxing after-hours drawing session? This time we’ll will focus on the technicolour tropical zone, to study marine species that are adapted to the warm waters that span the earth's equator. All that sunshine means these tropical seas are teeming with life; sea turtles, zebra fish, rays, sea horses, and LOTS of lovely coral (95% of the planet’s coral is located in this zone)!

The class will be hosted by artist and illustrator Jennie Webber, who will guide you through the process of drawing animals from life. We will be joined by one of the aquarium’s marine experts, who will give a talk at the beginning of the class about the species we are drawing, pointing out the adaptations that make them so well-suited to their environments. Throughout the session you will be free to roam through the peaceful surroundings, sketching whichever sea life species you’re drawn to.

Our sessions are open to everyone- all abilities are welcome and all artistic styles are celebrated! We will provide everything you need to get sketching- drawing boards, paper and a wide range of materials (but feel free to bring along your own kit if you’d like).

Here at Wild Life Drawing we are a small team who are dedicated to animal welfare. We only ever work with the finest animal handlers, who treat their animals with care and respect, and healthy animals that are comfortable being around humans. As with all of our aquarium classes, a whopping 50% of your ticket price will be donated to SEA Life Trust. This charity has two sanctuaries; The Cornish Seal Sanctuary, which has been caring for rescued seal pups for over 60 years, and the Beluga Whale and Puffin Sanctuary, which was opened in 2020 and is home to two rescued Belugas Whales and is a rehabilitation centre of local puffins.

Please note: Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be moved to another class, but can be transferred to another name- just get in touch to let us know who will be attending. We do sometimes have waiting lists for sessions, so if the class you have tickets for is sold out and you can’t make it, please email info@wildlifedrawing.co.uk with as much notice as possible and we will try our best to re-allocate your tickets. If we can, you will be given a credit for another class.
