Bagot Goats are believed to be Britain’s oldest breed with a documented history dating back to 1389, when Sir John Bagot was known to be the keeper of the original herd on his Staffordshire estate! Our local Spitalfields City Farm has recently welcomed three of this rare goat species to it's farmyard, in an effort to conserve the native breed and will be bringing them along to our Easter drawing class in the beautiful surrounds of Paper Mill Studios.

These goats have majestic curved horns and long flowing black and white coats, wonderful to capture on paper! Whilst perfectly tame and domestic animals, they are guaranteed to be mischievous. We will be focussing on drawing the anatomy of these animals, as well as finding out all about their history, diet and conservation. A proportion of each ticket price will be donated to Spitalfields City Farm, to enable them to continue their work in rehoming and rescuing animals and as an outdoor classroom that educates children and adults alike about the natural world.

The drawing class is open to all, from beginners to advanced. All drawing materials are supplied, including paper and drawing boards, but please feel free to bring colours or any other specific media you might like to use. Plentiful drawing tips and guidance will be provided throughout the session. The aim of these drawing classes is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for the animals and their conservation in the wider world.

Wild Life Drawing is working with the finest animal handlers, sanctuaries and organisations to put on these events. All the animals that attend the sessions are well used to humans and different environments and are always accompanied by experienced handlers, their welfare is our highest priority.

Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferable to another name. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with Jennie on: info@wildlifedrawing.co.uk
