It’s about time for another visit to Costa Rica, don’t you think? We are delighted to be teaming up with our friends over at Jaguar Rescue Centre for another live online class, this time studying the resident deer that call the sanctuary home. We’ll meet a pair of red brocket deer named Ginger and Wasabi, along with white-tailed deer Penelope and Xai (who just so happens to be regarded by all at JRC as queen of the centre). We will hear each of the deer’s life stories and how they came to be at the centre, as well as going into detail about both species.
Jennie will lead the session, kicking things off with a drawing demonstration. She will be joined from the sanctuary by Noelia, who will introduce us to the animals and get us up to speed on these graceful forest creatures. As always, the class is open to all; you don’t need any prior art experience to take part. Drawing will be our pathway into the lives of our mammalian models; a way to learn more about their conservation. There’s no pressure to create a perfect portrait!
Before the session you’ll need to get your hands on some paper, a pencil, and any other materials you might like to work with. We will email you before the class with a Zoom link, and some instructions. By taking part in the session you’ll be supporting Jaguar Rescue Centre, as 50% of profits will be donated to the charity.
