Come draw and explore the wonderful world of plants this February within in the cosy confines of Draw Brighton with Wild Life Drawing. Exotic plants and flowers, terrariums, succulents and other fabulous foliage will make up a variety of botanical displays inspired by different parts of the world. We will be joined by Emma Sibley – founder of London Terrariums – who will be bringing along a variety of vessels and her green-fingered knowledge to talk us through the plants, their properties, uses and origins before drawing them. The class will commence with an introduction into Botanical Illustration; it’s purpose and prominent artists through the ages. Everyone will have the opportunity to study these plants closely and a variety of materials will be on offer to experiment with throughout the class. All abilities are welcome, and workshop leader Jennie Webber will be on hand for tips and advice throughout as well as demonstrating how to work with different media.
The drawing class is open to all, from beginners to advanced. All drawing materials are supplied, including paper and drawing boards, but please feel free to bring colours or any other specific media you might like to use. Drawing tips and guidance will be provided throughout the session. The aim of these drawing classes is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for the natural world and to educate attendees on conservation issues around the globe.
The plants sourced will be grown in the UK to avoid the air miles incurred by imported flowers. Tickets are non-refundable but can be swapped to a different name. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Jennie on info@wildlifedrawing.co.uk
