’Tis the season to draw seal pups, fa la la la la la la la la! Catching up with the gang down at Cornish Seal Sanctuary has become a bit of a festive tradition for us, and it never fails to leave us filled with good cheer. This December join us to meet this years batch of grey seal pups in all their blubbery glory. Each year the sanctuary take in around 70 seal pups. Whether they’ve been separated from their mums, are injured or malnourished, the sanctuary provide a safe home to the youngsters where they can get back on their flippers, ready to be released back into the wild. We will be shown given a tour of the nursery pools by the sanctuary’s expert team, who will be on hand throughout to answer all your fluff and blubber related queries.

The class with be lead by artist Laura Cuppage, who will begin with a demonstration of how she tackles the task of drawing these fabulously fat and furry pups on her page. We will be drawing the seal pups as they move about their enclosures freely, so Laura will provide plenty of advice on sketching moving models. The class is open to all abilities, and embracing your own unique drawing style is encouraged! The basic materials you need to take part are some paper, a pencil, a sharpener and a rubber, but if you’d like to experiment with other materials please free to get creative! We will email you with instructions and the zoom link 48 hours before the event is due to start, or in good time if you book your ticket closer to the session. As with all our online sessions, we will send out a recording of the class afterwards so that you can watch it back as many times as you like.

50% of profits will be donated to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary
