Event Details
Who's ready for some snappy sketching? This November, join us at SEA Life London Aquarium to draw some spectacular species including Sand Tiger Sharks, Nurse Sharks and Black Tip Reef Sharks. We will learn all about these amazing animals and the adaptations that have made them one of the oldest and most successful species groups on earth! While we will be focusing on the sharks, you'll have free reign to wander through the rest of the space, taking in the turtles, ogling the octopi and eyeing up the eels at your will.
Nature illustrator Jennie Webber be your host for the evening, getting you started with some of her top tips for drawing from life. We will then be given a talk from one of the marine experts at the aquarium, who will update us on the current conservation projects that are going on at the aquarium's partner charity the SEA Life Trust. This wonderful organisation work around the globe to protect marine habitats and species, from rescuing beluga whales to conserving rare seahorses!
No prior art experience is needed- whether you’re a dab hand or an absolute beginner we are confident that with a bit of creative guidance we will have to sketching away in no time! We will provide a range of art materials, paper and drawing boards for you to use, so no need to bring anything along, but if you have some trusty favourites that you enjoy using you’re welcome to bring them.
Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do at Wild Life Drawing. We are a small team of animal lovers who are dedicated to conservation, and we strive to make each of our classes a positive experience for the animals we draw. We only ever work with the finest handlers who treat their animals with respect and care, and animals who are healthy and happy being around humans.
50% of your ticket price will go to SEA LIFE Trust.
