To celebrate spooky season, throughout the month of October each of our classes will be showcasing oddballs of the natural world. Fans of the weird and wonderful would be wise to join us at Platf9rm Hove on the 11th as we will be drawing a group of rescue animals who are all marvellous misfits! We will meet furless and fabulous Valerie the skinny pig who is as charming as she is sassy. On the other end of the hairy spectrum we have a big fuzzball named Camilla, who is a curly haired tarantula and is covered from head to toe with long, curly bristles. Star Wars fans will be excited to hear that we will also meet an african bullfrog named Jabba (who promises to be on his best behaviour and not take anyone prisoner for the entire class). There will be some more surprise species making an appearance on the day too, each perfectly peculiar in their own way!

The class will begin with an introduction from wildlife artist Laura Cuppage who will be on hand throughout the session to provide plenty of creative guidance. We will then be introduced to the animals by their handlers Mark and Jerry. We will also hear the story of how these two love birds bonded over their appreciation of wildlife, and how they ended up running their own sanctuary and caring for all of these beautiful rescue animals!

No prior art experience is needed to join the session- with a few of our simple tips and tricks we will have to sketching away in no time. We will provide a range of art materials, paper and drawing boards for you to use, so no need to bring anything along, but if you have some trusty favourites that you enjoy using you’re welcome to bring them.

Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do at Wild Life Drawing. We are a small team of animal lovers who are dedicated to conservation, and we strive to make each of our classes a positive experience for the animals we draw. We only ever work with the finest handlers who treat their animals with respect and care, and animals who are healthy and happy being around humans.

10% of profits for the class will be donated to South Essex Wildlife Hospital

Tickets are non-refunadable, but can be transferred to another name.
