Join us this July to take a virtual trip all the way to Idaho USA to meet the cutest family of Scottish Highlands. Our moo-dels will be Rhona, Betty, Thor and Loki (shown in pic), as well as two calves are who due to be born this summer! Their home is Wildroots Farm, a small family run enterprise that grows flowers, fruits and vegetables, keeps bees and sheep, and specialises in regenerative farm practices. Not only are the cattle aiding the soil quality by grazing (and producing plenty of fertiliser!) they are our beloved family pets (aka the "Moo Crew") and Instagram superstars.
The class will begin with some background information about the farm from Ashley, and a 'meet and greet' with the herd via Zoom. Then artist Laura Cuppage will take you through the basics of drawing highland cattle from life. Ashley with be joining us right from the field with them, so expect lots of cute close ups of them having their chins scratched and some lovely long shots of them grazing with the mountain range in the background.
The basic materials you need to take part are paper, a pencil, eraser and sharpener, but of course you are more than welcome to work in whatever materials you enjoy or have to hand. You will be emailed the reference images, instructions and the Zoom link to join 48 hours before the event is due to start, or in good time if you booked your ticket closer to the event. We will send out a recording of the class afterwards so you can watch it back, or catch up if you aren't able to attend on the day.
50% of the ticket profits will be donated to Wildroots Farm.
