Event Details

We have something very exciting planned for our Easter special this year. It is with great pleasure that we tell you that Willow-one of the resident donkeys at Hackney City Farm- has just given birth to an adorable little foal, and once he is old enough, we are heading to the farm to draw them both! By April the sweet chap will be confident and used to the hustle bustle of farm life, but still small, fluffy and ridiculously cute.

The class will begin with an introduction and drawing demo by wildlife artist Laura Cuppage who will be on hand throughout the session to guide you through the process of drawing animals from life. She will also give you some top tips on how to concentrate on drawing when in the presence of an animal so adorable that you feel you may cry. While the session progresses, the expert team at the farm will teach us all about donkeys and their amazing memories and strong characters! We will hear all about how Willow and her foal are getting on, and there will be plenty of time for your questions.

The class is open to all abilities. Wether you’re a dab hand or an absolute beginner, with our top tips on drawing moving models we will have you sketching away in no time. We will provide everything you need to draw- drawing boards, paper and a colourful array of materials- but do feel free to bring along any of your favourite drawing materials if you’d like to.

Here at Wild Life Drawing we are a small team who are dedicated to animal welfare. We only ever work with the finest animal handlers, who treat their animals with care and respect, and healthy animals that are happy being around humans. £10 of each ticket will go to Hackney City Farm.
