Who fancies hanging out with some piglets? Thought so! This November we have a fun filled day for you, drawing two adorable Kunekune piglets! This unusual breed hail from New Zealand- in the indigenous Māori language, their name means “fat and round”. Known for their friendly personalities, these pigs love to be the centre of attention. We will draw two gorgeous young ladies names Tora and Hanna, all the way from their piri piri (distinctive chin tassels unique to the breed) down to their waggy tails.

While we draw we will learn about all things pig, from their high level of intelligence (they are thought to be the fifth smartest animal on earth!) to their welfare in the livestock industry. Our expert animal handler Marc will be happy to answer your questions. There may even be time for some piglet-cuddles at the end of the session. And just so you know, the piggies we draw are destined for happy lives being pampered as family pets.

The class will be lead by artist and wildlife enthusiast Laura Cuppage, who will get you started with a drawing demo and her top tips for drawing a moving subject. Throughout the session Laura will be on hand with as much creative guidance as you would like. We will provide paper and drawing boards, as well as an array of colourful materials for you to enjoy, but do bring along any of your own favourite tools if you’d like to. The class is open to all- from beginners to advanced. Even if you haven’t picked up a pencil in years, we will have you sketching away in no time! Our goal is for you to leave with not only some lovely drawings, but also a greater understanding and appreciation of the animals you’ve drawn.

Here at Wild Life Drawing we are a small team who are dedicated to animal welfare. We only ever work with the finest animal handlers, who treat their animals with care and respect, and healthy animals who are happy being around humans.

10% of profits will be donated to Farms Not Factories.
