So very excited to announce a special set of three drawing classes charting the development of two baby Barn Owlets, named Sketch and Smudge. The classes are each three weeks apart, so we’ll be drawing the owlets at 3 weeks, 6 weeks and 9 weeks old. In that time the baby birds will undergo a dramatic transformation, as they swiftly turn from ungainly (and slightly ugly) balls of downy feathers to beautiful, fully grown Barn Owls. As well as drawing the owlets, we’ll be learning all about the different growth stages – from eggs to adult birds. This species is native to the UK and we’ll be using the classes to explore the conservation issues affecting the birds and what we can do to help. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the development of life, and to create a body of work focussing on a particular animal. I’m pretty sure we’ll all fall in love with the owlets too…

The block of three classes are priced at £65 and will take place from 7pm-9pm on:

Tuesday 12th April

Tuesday 3rd May

Tuesday 24th May

The drawing classes are open to all, from beginners to advanced. All drawing materials are supplied, including paper, but please feel free to bring colours or any other specific media you might like to use. As we’ll be spending some time with these owls, you’ll be encouraged to experiment with different media to capture the beauty of the birds at different stages of their growth. The aim is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for the animals and their conservation in the wider world.

Wild Life Drawing is working with the finest animal sanctuaries and organisations to put on these events – the welfare of the animals is our highest priority. Money from tickets sales goes towards their continued hard work for the conservation and protection of the animals.

Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferable to another name. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with Jennie on: info@wildlifedrawing.co.uk
