Event Details

For our next live broadcast from the London Aquarium, we'll be cruising the coral reefs and meeting all the many colourful creatures that live there! We'll have a live zoom link to view different parts of the largest living coral reef in the UK. Spot the clownfish, regal tangs and the cleaner shrimp for the full Finding Nemo experience, as well and learning all about reef ecology and conservation projects around the globe.

The class will begin with an introduction from WLD founder and artist Jennie Webber, who will take you through the basics of drawing animals from life. There will be a drawing demonstration of how to draw fish, coral structure and textures – before we go live to the reef! We will then switch screens to be introduced live to the coral ecosystem with fun facts from James, Head Aquarist at SEA LIFE London. We'll spend 45 minutes drawing and we'll switch our viewpoints throughout to make sure we see all the species.

The basic materials you need to take part are paper, a pencil, eraser and sharpener, but of course you are more than welcome to work in whatever materials you enjoy or have to hand. Colours are useful when drawing coral reefs! Please get in touch if you need advice on materials, we're happy to help! You will be emailed the Zoom link to join and some reference images 24 hour before the event is due to start.

50% of each ticket sold will be donated to the Sea Life Trust.
