Event Details

Anyone ever seen a Miniature Donkey? Well, at around 34 inches tall, they're even more adorable than regular-sized donkeys. Two adorable Miniature Donkeys named Gilbert and Sullivan will be visiting during February Half Term from their home just down the road at Spitalfields City Farm, along with many of their farmyard pals. We'll be meeting and drawing some of the glorious goat herd, including Hamish, a smaller than average pygmy goat – with a larger than life personality! We'll also be sketching four rescued rabbit siblings (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter) that often jump for joy (known as a binky) and some of the rehomed Chickens from the farm.

The class will start with an introduction from Jenny the Farm Manager, where we'll discuss the characteristics of the different animals, their origins and some of the welfare issues facing them across the world. All these animals, both large and small, are all friendly and charismatic and you're going to love them. All ages and abilities welcome!

This event will support Spitalfields City Farm – a charity in it's own right – and help the farm to sustain it's upkeep and provide homes for a whole variety of rescue animals! The farm also functions as an outdoor classroom and a source of joy for local schools and groups with learning difficulties, as well as working to conserve rare breeds of livestock.

The drawing class is open to all, from beginners to advanced. Children aged 7 and above are more than welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult also taking part in the class. All drawing materials are supplied, including paper, but please feel free to bring colours or any other specific media you might like to use. The aim is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for the animals and their conservation in the wider world.

Wild Life Drawing is working with the finest animal handlers, sanctuaries and organisations to put on these event – the welfare of the animals is our highest priority.  Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferable to another name.
