Really pleased to be collaborating again with the Town Hall Hotel to raise money and awareness for The Greyhound Trust in March 2019! Inspired by the hotel's resident rescue greyhound named Dizzy (our poster girl), the class will aim to understand the welfare issues affecting Britain's retired racing greyhounds, and get to know the calm and loving natures of these dogs. Taking place in the stunning surrounds of the Town Hall Hotel's Council Chamber, we'll be sketching a pack of greyhounds brought along by a local volunteer for the charity, as well as Dizzy herself. The athletic physique and dramatic anatomy of these dogs will be wonderful to draw, and greyhounds are renowned for their laziness so they should make great models!

A total of £10 from each ticket sold will be donated to The Greyhound Trust and we'll be hearing all about the rewarding realities of owning a greyhound first hand from volunteers at the charity. The Greyhound Trust was founded in 1975, since then the small regional teams have worked together to have found over 85,000 loving homes for greyhounds.

The drawing class is open to all, from beginners to advanced. Children aged 8 and above are welcome if accompanied by an adult partaking in the class. All drawing materials are supplied, including paper and drawing boards, but please feel free to bring colours or any other specific media you might like to use. Drawing tips and guidance will be provided throughout the session, with a demonstration of how to draw animals from life at the beginning of the class. The aim of these drawing classes is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for the animals and their conservation in the wider world.

Wild Life Drawing is working with the finest animal handlers, sanctuaries and organisations to put on these events. All the animals that attend the sessions are well used to humans and different environments and are always accompanied by experienced handlers, their welfare is our highest priority. For this class we will be only drawing dogs that are comfortable around different people and other dogs, with plenty of treats and comfortable blankets to keep them happy.
